Our Achievements

ROPDB Key Achievements

Our journey has been marked by significant milestones that have shaped us into the organization we are today. We have consistently strived for excellence, innovation, and impact in our field. Our accomplishments are a testament to our commitment and dedication.
A Strong organization with different committees (General Assembly, Executive committee, Audit committee, conflict resolution committee)

ROPDB started as the project of Rwanda Union of the Blind with RUB staff, now it has 3 staff (Executive Director, Project office and Accountant).

ROPDB Increased numbers of donors (MyRights through the partnership with FSDB, Disability Rights funds/Disability Rights Advocacy, Germany Embassy and Bridge to Justice through the partnership with European Union)

ROPDB Started without official documents but now it has (an RGB Operating certificate, and a constitution Approved by General Assembly).

The organization how others document (Strategic plan for 5 years from 2021 to 2025, Procurement policies, human resource policy, child protection policy, Sexual harassment policy, finance policy).

The organization supported the president and his secretary to go to learn braille at Masaka. Now there are at the end of graduation.
The organization Trained the members on disability mainstreaming and communication signs.

The organization trained the Board members on management (financial and leadership).

The organization developed the tactile sign language manual and printed cards used in Advocacy.

The organization offered training of 21 tactile sign language interpreters for professionalism.

The organization attended different meetings invited and planned(national).

During the outreach reached on 350 members were identified in five districts (Rusizi, Nyamasheke, Gicumbi, Kirehe and Bugesera)
We signed MoU with the new Centre for the Deaf and Blind in the Kayonza district.

The staff of the organization were empowered with different skills (management, leadership, advocacy etc...)

ROPD Trained the (sign language interpreters, family members and members on communication signs)

The ROPDB created strong social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram) to share the information.

With mama Magnus’s support, on 12th August 2021 ROPD supported 27 families of goats so as to care for them to survive in the Rusizi district /Giheke sector.
