FURAHA Jean Marie, 56, a person with deaf-blindness, became the first Chairperson of ROPDB and has championed the rights of persons with deaf-blindness across Rwanda and beyond.
Persons with deaf-blindness have often been hidden, with no easy way to communicate. After learning tactile sign language, FURAHA Jean Marie now communicates with confidence and leads a fuller life.
