In a society where education holds the power to unlock opportunities and empower individuals, it is disheartening to acknowledge that the deaf-blind community in Rwanda continues to face restricted access to educational services and support.
On June 30, 2023, ROPDB commemorated the 13th International Deaf-Blindness Awareness Day, reaffirming its commitment to advocating for the rights and inclusion of persons with deaf-blindness across Rwanda.
The event brought together community members, families, policymakers, and international partners to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by individuals with combined vision and hearing loss, and to highlight the progress made in advocacy, education, and social inclusion.
